Mia is a delight
Our first full day home together was wonderful with lots of feeds, sleep, an early evening walk and then some good socializing. Anita and Erika dropped by, as did my mom and dad and brothers Kevin and Sean and they all got to see Mia hanging out comfortably, eyes open, little hands and feet swinging. She is relaxed except when she turns into the intense little drinker and is hitting nipple and bottle indescriminately. She is an absolute delight.
The walk was lovely, just around the corner to the Barns, bumping into Virginia and Penny, Doug and Oscar along the way and then meeting a 7 month and 2 month old puppies who decided to play between Pamela's legs. Virginia walked out her garden to hug Pam and with her fingers nail full of soil from her great garden her enthusiasm about the Cycle of life continuing was very felt. I love the wall of Cosmo that line her pavement mid summer. And it is always a hoot to catch up with Penny and Doug and see Oscar or Beck, Doug ran in to fetch a celebratory beer. After 9 months Pam loves just a mouthful of beer. Hatch was the first, bringing a single beer to the hospital, which if you know Hatch epitomises his funny spark.

Welcome to the world little Mia. We have been following your first few days with interest. Today Jordan's twin brother Harrison went to his gymnastics carnival and he was in the Ruby team - all I could think of is you and how appropriate that he was placed in that team.
We feel a special bond with you sweet Mia and we will be following your journey as you begin to explore this beautiful big world.
Pam and Jonathon - you are two very lucky parents to have two beautiful daughters. They picked the best mommy and daddy in the world!

Biddyg, thanks for taking the time to send us some kind words, one of the most amazing aspects of the web is the ability for strangers to connect like this. We also had three miscarriages and then we got working with the Start Clinic in Toronto, however, before we started any real intervention, presto we got pregnant with Sasha. Mia's pregnancy was also natural so there is hope, keep strong.

Hi Pam and Jonathan
My friend pointed out the obituary in the paper on Saturday. I lost my 6 month old son in March after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at 5 1/2 months. We spent two weeks at HSC. Knowing that nothing could be done to save our precious baby was so hard to accept.
I have been keeping up to date with Sasha's website and both of your beautiful daughters blogs.
I can't imagine the emotional rollercoaster that you have been on. From dealing with loss to gaining another beloved daughter in your life.
You are both an inspiration. I admire the way you are able to articulate everything you are feeling and the comfort in sharing these feelings with others.
My hope in the future is being able to have another baby. Yet never replacing our beautiful baby boy. Mia is a symbol of hope for me.

I also noticed your obituary in the paper and have been following the progress of Mia and the courage the two of you have showed through reading your blogs.
I too have had devastation in my life, delivery a premature baby boy, and his stillborn brother and 2 miscarriages.
Sasha was such a beautiful gift to you and also so lucky to have had a wonderful family and now a beautiful sister to guard.
I wish that each day for you to gain strength and reading Mia's site is also giving me hope too.
